Shenzhen-based Donghai Jet has placed a firm order for five Bombardier Challenger 300 business jets.
The order, which is valued at $121 million, will increase the company’s presence in the growing Chinese business aviation market. The aircraft join Donghai’s new Bombardier Challenger 605, which was delivered earlier this week.
“This order is a very important milestone in the growth of our fleet…in greater China,” says Steve Ridolfi, president, Bombardier business aircraft.
Donghai, which is based in Shenzhen Airport in the Southern Chinese province of Guangdong, provides charter services in the country. It also provides maintenance for business jets.
Bombardier has forecast that China will take delivery of 600 business jets in the 10 years to 2019.
“China is among a number of countries emerging as key markets for business aviation. Globalisation, increased travel requirements by business people and a general positive trend towards the acceptance of business aircraft use are among the contributors to increased activity in the region,” says the company.
