FLEET BOOST

Business aviation services provider Jet Aviation has strengthened its managed business aircraft fleet by more than 20 aircraft this year across its African, Asian, European, Middle Eastern and US bases. Aircraft types added include the Dassault Falcon 50 and 900, Gulfstream GIII, GIV, GV, G550, and Bombardier Global Express, Challenger and Learjet. Seven of the aircraft also are available for charter services.

LINEAR APPROVAL

US air taxi operator Linear Air has received Federal Aviation Administration approval to provide Eclipse 500 very light jet pilots with required recurrent training. All Eclipse 500 pilots must receive the training at either six- or 12-month intervals, depending on pilot experience, says Concord Massachusetts-based Linear. The company offers point to point air taxi services across the USA with three Eclipse 500s and eight Cessna Grand Caravan turboprops. The recurrent training programme includes computer-based systems training, classroom training and flight training and will be offered through its Eclipse Services and Support affiliate.

FLEXIBLE LEASING

Bombardier Flexjet has introduced its newly revamped Walk Away Lease program in a response to its customers changing needs. The programme, available on all Bombardier business jets, "provides many of the benefits that come with fractional ownership", says the Dallas, Texas-based operator, but with the option to break the contract with just 90 days notice or immediately following the purchase and delivery of a fractional share. The length of the contract ranges from 24 to 60 months, with the monthly lease payment fixed for the length of the contract. "In just a few short months, this programme has been responsible for more than 30% of Flexjet's business this year by delivering the right product at the right time," says the company.
